BOTOX^®

BOTOX is a naturally derived protein that relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles on the skin. It is used to reduce or eliminate fine lines and wrinkles located around the eyes and forehead, giving you a more youthful appearance. It is also used for treating blepharospasms, a medical condition in which muscles surrounding the eye involuntarily contract. BOTOX has also recently been approved for treatment of chronic migraines.

BOTOX treatments are performed in the office at Southern Eye Center and take only a few minutes, with results lasting up to 4 months.

Facial Fillers

For deeper wrinkles or larger lines on the face, Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus is the treatment of choice. Juvéderm is an injectable gel made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps add volume and hydration. Juvéderm is also administered with lidocaine, a numbing agent for your comfort. Juvéderm is used to treat deep wrinkles that run alongside the nose and mouth. It may also be used to enhance the lips and reduce fine lines around the mouth. Results after a Juvéderm injection are immediate and typically last about 9 months.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel can be used to gently resurface the skin by using a specially formulated chemical solution to remove the top layers of your skin. After your peel, the skin that grows back naturally is smoother and younger-looking than the original skin.

Different chemical solutions are used to treat your skin at different depths – light, medium, or deep – in order to meet your goals for the peel. Longer recovery times and more dramatic results can be expected for deeper chemical peels.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally-invasive oculoplastic procedure that can treat skin conditions by stimulating new collagen production. This is a popular treatment option for patients looking to reduce the appearance of acne scarring and facial stretch marks.

In addition to treating scars and stretch marks, patients who receive microneedling often report brighter, firmer skin as a result of the procedure. Ideal results from microneedling will be achieved after multiple sessions, and microneedling treatment from an oculoplastics specialist is far more effective than at-home roller treatments.
