• Jaime Jiménez, M.D has been treating and caring for patients with sight threatening conditions such as Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Degeneration at Southern Eye Center for over 20 years.
  • Dr. Jiménez specializes in the management and treatment of retinal-vascular diseases, Retinal Detachments and eye inflammation.
  • He completed two years of fellowship training in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery and served as an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at the University of Texas at Houston.
  • Dr. Jiménez also served as assistant chief of ophthalmology at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi where he received an Air Force Commendation Medal during his term of duty.
  • He received his bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Puerto Rico.
  • Dr. Jiménez is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology; the American Society of Retinal Surgeons, the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology, European Society of Retina Specialists, International Ocular Inflammation Society.

  • He serves as a board member for the Pine Burr Council of Boy Scouts of America.
  • Dr. Jiménez has written many articles and has lectured at retina conferences across the United States, Europe, Central and South America, and Puerto Rico. He has been featured in multiple articles of The Mississippi Press for his humanitarian work.
