• Dr. Cameron S. Griffith, M.D., M.S., is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist
  • His clinical expertise is in Cornea and External Diseases, Cataract, LASIK and Dry Eye.
  • His Surgical expertise includes LASIK, PRK, ICL, Cataract surgery, Corneal Transplant, DSAEK, Pterygium Surgery, Amniotic Membrane grafting, and treatment of conjunctival tumors.
  • A native of Louisiana, Dr. Griffith was born in Shreveport where he graduated from C.E. Byrd M.S. Magnet in 1991.
  • He was accepted as an Echols Scholar at the esteemed University of Virginia where he graduated with a B.A. in Archaeology.
  • During his time at UVa. Dr. Griffith was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity where he served as a House Officer.
  • He received his Masters of Science in Neuropharmacology at the Louisiana State Medical Center in Shreveport where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA.
  • He attended Medical School at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport
  • He was selected as both the Top Student in Ophthalmology, as well as, an Honors student in Medicine during his senior year.
  • Following medical school he completed a one-year internship in Internal Medicine at LSUHSC-Shreveport.
  • Dr. Griffith completed his residency at the LSUHSC-Shreveport Department of Ophthalmology, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year.
  • During his residency he received intensive clinical and surgical training at LSUHSC Hospital, Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center, and EA Conway Medical Center.
  • Following completion of his residency, Dr. Griffith had the honor of performing a one-year Fellowship in Cornea, Refractive Surgery and External Disease at the prestigious Eye Consultants of Atlanta.
  • During his Fellowship, Dr. Griffith had the blessing of being able to serve on a mission trip to Honduras where he performed cataract and corneal transplant surgery.
  • He continues his mission work to this day by actively participating in Make a Difference Day and Gift of Sight at Southern Eye Center.
  • Dr. Griffith has given presentations on LASIK, Dry Eye, Cataract surgery, and Corneal transplant to local groups.
  • He is actively involved in assisting Optometrists obtain continuing education hours.
  • Dr. Griffith is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
  • His offices are located at Southern Eye Center’s main Clinic and LASIK Center in Hattiesburg and our satellite clinic in Picayune.
  • Dr. Griffith was recently recognized as one of Mississippi Business Journal’s Healthcare Heroes.
